W2WW Summer Weddings – Fashion Tuna

A summer wedding is always a great opportunity to showcase your amazing fashion and own personal style. This year, I chose to go with a long, and very flow-y emerald green gown from Reformation. I especially loved the off-the-shoulder sleeves and also came with straps to hold it up. This made it ideal for optimal dance movement! I linked similar, flow-y gowns below because mine is long gone from Refornation. 🙁

P.S.  I love a good southern wedding, especially in the summer! Isn’t this sunset epic?!

2020 Resolutions – Fashion Tuna

2020 not only brings us a fresh new year and beginning, but it also starts a new decade. I really want to try to commit myself to actually making a change in my life this year. And not just with healthy eating habits and exercise, but by being more mindful and aware. I challenge everyone to set ten resolutions for them to try and follow not only throughout the year, but to take through the decade.

Resolutions:

1. Be kind.

2. Be present.

3. Be productive.

4. Listen more.

5. Argue less.

6. Pray consistently.

7. Accept joy.

8. Love without bounds.

9. Try my hardest.

10. Live a healthy lifestyle.

These were the only photos I got from New Year’s Eve… but that’s a sure sign of a good time, right? First, we made a delicious dinner to ring in the New Year. On the menu was buffalo mozzarella stuffed chicken, sautéed bell pepper and green beans, with a tomato onion salad. After dinner, we went to a house party where we drank shimmery champagne to toast the new year. Then we went home to see Leo and dance around the Christmas tree. It was a fun way to bring in 2020 with someone special. I am now ready to start a new decade and be the best I can be.

Happy New Year!

The Winter Weather Battle – Fashion Tuna

If you are anything like me, your skin does not get along with the cold, winter weather. Mine gets so dry that it itches, then cracks, and becomes so painful. It makes the winter months very uncomfortable.

Why does skin get so dry in the winter? The cold weather sucks out all the moisture of the moisture, leaving our skin dry and cracked. It can feel uncomfortable and even downright painful. The most common places affected from cold weather are hands, face, and lips. Certain skincare products help to lock moisture into skin that cold weather has dried out.

Luckily, I keep these five products in my skincare arsenal to battle the damage of winter weather on my skin:

1. Aquaphor’s Aquaphor Healing Ointment

I like to use this before bed on my hands, feet, and lips. It is an actual miracle worker on my skin.

2. LanoLips 101 Ointment Multipurpose Superbalm

This instantly soothes my dry, cracked lips. I can actually feel it working as soon as I apply it. I also use it on my cuticles and elbows.

3. Beauty Counter Rosewater Facial Spray

This helps to keep my skin hydrated from the dryness of winter.

4. Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil

This is so hydrating that I don’t even need a moisturize after I use it!

5. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream

This is so light and airy, it feels exactly like I would imagine a cloud to feel on my skin. Plus, it helps repair the barrier torn down from drying, cold weather.

Puppy Boutique – Fashion Tuna

As you may know from previous posts, I got a puppy for Christmas! The cutest little blue French bulldog named Leo that I am completely obsessed with. I thought I would curate a boutique featuring his (and my) favorite items we’ve gotten since December. All of these items are from Amazon, ship with Prime, and are pretty cheap. Oh, and did I mention cute?! This little guy is going to be spoiled rotten!

Pumpkin Patch – Fashion Tuna

A favorite fall activity for all is visiting a pumpkin patch. The most fun are the pick your own pumpkin patches! We luckily have one in Baldwin County, located in Elberta.

The Kichler Pumpkin Patch has been around for years! We went on a field trip in Kindergarten – I went to Elberta School for Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade because my mom taught Fourth Grade there – and could walk there. We each got to pick our own little pumpkin, exactly like you can today!

Just grab yourself a wagon and head out to the pumpkin patch.
