Quarantine Cocktails – Fashion Tuna

It’s time to open your liquor cabinet and get creative with some cocktails! Here are three I created during the first three weeks of lockdown that are all citrus based. Grab a cup and enjoy!

Grapefruit Garden Gimlet

2 Red Grapefruits

1 Can of Sprite

4-5 Shots Vodka (or more!)

Handful of Mint Leaves (+ more for garnish)

4 Rosemary Springs (+ more for garnish)

  1. Juice 1  1/2 grapefruits. Slice other half for garnishes.
  2. Pour grapefruit juice, sprite, and vodka in pitcher. Stir.
  3. Add mint leaves, rosemary sprigs, and 2-3 slices of grapefruit.
  4. Add ice and stir.
  5. Garnish glasses with mint leaves, rosemary sprig, and 1-2 pieces of grapefruit. Enjoy!

Lemon-Lime Quarantine Twist

4 Lemons

4 Limes

Handful of fresh Basil Leaves (+ more for garnish)

1/2 cup Simple Syrup (equal parts boiling water + sugar, cooled)

1/2 cup Tonic Water

1 Cup Ice

3-4 Shots Gin (or more!)

  1. Juice 2 lemons and 2 limes. Slice other 2 lemons and limes for garnishes.
  2. Add lemon and lime juice, simple syrup, tonic, and gin to pitcher. Stir.
  3. Add slices of lemons and limes and basil leaves, reserving some of all to garnish glasses.
  4. Add splash of champagne and ice. Stir.
  5. Top with another splash of champagne.
  6. Garnish glasses with slice of lemon, slice of lime, and Basil leaves. Pour and enjoy!

White Grapefruit Cucumber Cooler

3 White Grapefruits

1 Cucumber

5-6 Rosemary Sprigs (+ more for garnish)

4-5 Shots Vodka (or more!)

1 Cup Tonic Water

1 Cup Ice

  1. Juice 2 1/2 grapefruits. Slice other 1/2 for garnishes.
  2. Slice cucumber into rounds. Peel on is optional – I personally like the added color.
  3. Add grapefruit juice, tonic, and vodka. Stir.
  4. In layers, add slices of grapefruit and cucumber rounds, saving some to garnish glasses. Add Rosemary sprigs.
  5. Top with ice.
  6. Garnish glasses with slices of grapefruit and cucumber, and sprig of rosemary. Pour and enjoy!
