This year was my first time at Coachella! I went the first weekend with some girlfriends and had a wonderful time. We stayed at The Riviera in Palm Springs, which was so fun! It had pool parties on Saturday and Sunday featuring DJ Mustard, plus lots of fun pool floats 🙂 Oh, and they make a pretty good margarita – perfect for the poolside.Palms Springs is located about 45 minutes away from the polo fields where Coachella is held, so we used shuttle passes. Going to the festival the shuttles were great: they picked up right by our hotel and went straight to the grounds without hardly any wait. On the way back was another story… The first night, we accidentally exited the wrong way and walked all the way down to the taxi pickup. We only had 20 minutes to get back to the shuttles before they quit running, so we had to hire a bike taxi to take us all the way to the other side for the shuttle line. After standing in line for over an hour, we finally made it onto the last bus leaving for Palm Springs. The second night went a lot smoother: the lines ran quickly and they had buses constantly pulling in and out. The last night, we left early in order to beat the mobbing crowd that was about to form by the shuttle line. Lesson learned: add an extra hour for transit there and an extra two hours to go home. Not going to lie, the music was amazing! Some of my favorite performances included: Jack Ü, M83, Cold War Kids, LCD Soundsystem, Major Lazer, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, and Chainsmokers. I was most disappointed with Guns N Roses because they didn’t play many of their top hits, aka the ones I was most looking forward too. BØRNS was my favorite. I have a new obsession with them after seeing it live.
