The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, Autograph CollectionA 125 year old palace of luxury. A timeless experience. A mile high. The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa has it all. The architecture of this place is unreal. From the triangular shaped exterior, to the artfully designed staircases, to the stained glass paneled ceiling – I was in awe. The rooms were even more spectacular, offering views of downtown Denver. The suites are very spacious with lots of windows and fabulous, marbled bathrooms. Selfie anyone? The Brown Palace is located directly in downtown Denver, walking distance to 16th Street Mall and the Capitol. Work up an appetite with a self-guided walking tour of downtown. Then head back to the Brown Palace to enjoy afternoon tea (more below) or an early cocktail in the hotel lobby. Or head to Ship Tavern for a lively atmosphere with a (you guessed it) nautical theme. Although we just went for cocktails, it is known for the prime rib. Finish off the night with a delicious dinner at the hotel’s Palace Arms. But I also wouldn’t be opposed to ordering room service! The hotel has a spa located on the first floor. The Spa at the Brown Palace was probably the highlight of my trip. I mean, who doesn’t love a great massage? And their swedish massages are to die for! My massage therapist knew exactly what my sore muscles needed. I didn’t want it to end.Afternoon Tea at The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa is definitely a must! There is always live music, accompanied by great service, yummy teas and treats, oh and even champagne! Tea time is such a fun experience and will give you a memory to last a lifetime. The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is seriously amazing. The exhibits were so informative and interactive. Plus, the view of City Park with the skyline backdropped by the snowcapped Rocky Mountains is stunning. A few of my favorite stops around Denver included Union Station, the Tattered Cover Bookstore, and Glazed & Confused Donuts. The Tattered Cover Bookstore has multiple locations in Denver. We went to the one by Union Station. It felt like walking in to an old library, that I wanted to spend hours in! It was hard to get me to leave. Glazed & Confused Donuts is a little bit of drive, but totally worth it! The donuts are delicious; some of the best I have had. The mojito donut is the favorite, featuring a candied mint leaf…which says it all!If you have any extra time, be sure to stop in the hot springs in Glenwood Springs at the Spa of the Rockies! Thanks for the great trip, Colorado! And a special thanks to the Brown Palace for such an amazing stay!shop my looks here:
